The City of Fort Lauderdale's award-winning Fleet Services Division needs your help to secure its next win! Fort Lauderdale is among 42 municipalities, states, and educational institutions recognized by International Data Corporation (IDC) as a finalist in the 2023 Smart Cities North America Awards (SCNAA). As the next step in the awards process, IDC invites the public to vote on the named finalists by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 31.

How to cast your vote:

  1. Visit IDC's public voting page
  2. Enter your name, city, state, and email address
  3. Scroll down to #13 Transportation

Finalists in the SCNAA illustrate best practice examples of how forward-thinking municipalities and regional governments are effectively leveraging technology and innovation to offer new services and economic opportunities and to meet the needs and expectations of residents, visitors, and businesses. Fort Lauderdale is recognized under the Transportation category. The City has invested in fleet technology which allows for more efficient provision of services. This technology reduces liabilities, more quickly identifies mechanical issues, and allows for quicker dispatching of vehicles to areas of service needs.

Thank you for your support to help the City of Fort Lauderdale earn this award that highlights the progress we're making toward establishing Fort Lauderdale as a smart city. Winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 12.
