Introducing BSO Weston Executive Officer Greg Molamphy

Lieutenant Greg Molamphy was appointed to the position of Executive Officer (XO) at the Weston BSO District in late September 2022, a position vacated by Lt. Michele McCardle who became District Chief for the City of Parkland.  Parkland didn't get away scot-free however; Lieutenant Greg Molamphy comes to Weston from the City of Parkland, having been appointed their Executive Officer in 2021.  He has over 28 years of diversified law enforcement experience at the highest levels.

Lieutenant Greg Molamphy began his law enforcement career in 1994 with the Pompano Beach Police Department. He joined the Broward Sheriff's Office in 1999 as a Deputy, following the Pompano Beach Police Department's merger with BSO. Lt. Molamphy has served the Sheriff's Department in various positions and capacities throughout the organization.

In 2003, he was promoted to Sergeant and served in the Lauderdale Lakes District, the DUI Task Force, Internal Affairs and the Parkland District.

In 2019, Molamphy joined the Threat Management Unit, who investigate persons who may want to commit acts of mass violence and to stop that from occurring,. Later that year he was promoted to Lieutenant in the Real Time Crimes Center/Threat Management Unit, which operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

Who is the person behind the uniform?

Greg is happy to be here in Weston and knows many of our Deputies and staff. He is married and has four children.  He said he spends his free time with his family, and that they are avid campers.  We are wondering with four kids and a stressful job, what free time do you have?!   Greg is also a Bar-B-Que enthusiast and enjoys cooking for family and friends to relax.

We welcome Lt. Molamphy to Weston and hope he will be here with us for some time.  We look forward to his experience and leadership alongside Chief Sam Cavalieri.
