Fire Rescue Reaccreditation

BSO Department of Fire Rescue & Emergency Services learned the week of August 15, 2022 that they have been awarded reaccreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).  The Department was first awarded Accredited Agency Status by unanimous vote of the Board of the Commission on Fire Accreditation International on August 1, 2012.

Today, the BSO Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services is one of only 301 fire rescue organizations world-wide to achieve this certification and represents 12% of the US population protected by an accredited agency.

By meeting the CFAI standards on an ongoing basis, the residents and businesses in Weston will benefit by having fire rescue, fire protection, and fire prevention services that are recognized to be the best that can be delivered.

BSO continues to be an advocate for self-assessment, transparency, and improvement, and the accreditation process is an excellent way to measure level of performance.

The City of Weston congratulates Chief Todd Draizin and the men and women of the Department on receiving this award.  Staff assigned to Weston, as well as those throughout the agency, exemplify the best of the fire service and this recognition validates the outstanding work that they do each and every day.

Congratulations to the entire team, and thank you for your

continued commitment to quality public safety service.

Keep up the great work!
