In April, Broward College was recognized by Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, along with the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), as a 2022 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges (MPPWCC).
The MPPWCC title recognizes community colleges focused on workplace diversity and exceptional commitments through best-in-class student and staff recruitment and retention practices, inclusive learning and working environments.
The College will receive recognition during NISOD’s annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, May 28 to 31 in Austin, Texas. Recognitions acknowledgments highlighting its ongoing efforts to establish and empower employees through the Broward College Culture Transformation Plan. Receiving these awards authenticates the College’s efforts to create an employee-centered culture and demonstrates that its strategies are aligned with ensuring the continued well-being of its workforce and stakeholders.
- 2022 Southern Region HR Excellence Award: This award is conferred by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) and honors transformative HR work in higher education, recognizing teams who have provided HR leadership resulting in significant and ongoing organizational change within their institutions.
“These recognitions are a terrific validation of the College’s commitment to holistic well-being in support of faculty and staff,” said Sophia Galvin, vice president, Talent and Culture. “Acknowledgment from these prestigious organizations is a testament to the excellent work our team does. We hope to continue to be transformational leaders within the industry.”
