The City will be conducting a mock emergency response training exercise on Thursday, April 14 from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. as part of our Environmental Sustainability and Management System (ESMS) initiative. The exercise will take place at the George T. Lohmeyer Wastewater Treatment Plant, located south of SE 17 Street near the Intracoastal Waterway.
The training exercise is not expected to impact neighbors, businesses, or visitors, but some may notice an increase in public safety personnel and vehicles in the area; see employees evacuating the facility; hear sounds such as horns, screaming, intercom announcements, etc.; and see non-toxic smoke coming from the facility.
