New experience pairs snuggling with cats and free entertainment
Cat lovers and readers can now enjoy the best of both worlds with the new "Tails and Tales" program, a joint initiative of Broward County Animal Care and Broward County Libraries, taking place Tuesdays through Sundays from 11AM to 5:30PM at 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, 954-359-1313.
"We are so excited about our new "Tails and Tales" program! It's a unique way for our visitors to interact with our friendly felines and take some time out to relax," said Emily Wood, Director of Broward County Animal Care and Adoption. "In addition, our cats get to enjoy some quality interaction with guests, which may ultimately lead to an adoption."
The fun begins in Animal Care's Cat Mall section of the shelter, with four rooms of affectionate, cuddly, free-roaming cats in search of a lap. Colorful "Tails and Tales" posters feature special QR Codes for the Library's Instant eCard registration. An eCard number will be emailed on-the-spot, giving permanent, free access to thousands of digital books, magazines and movies.
"We are thrilled to partner with Broward County Animal Care for this delightful program," said Jill Sears, Broward County Library Assistant Director. "This is a perfect, pleasurable way to enjoy the latest book, magazine or movie while giving affection to a lonely animal. We are happy to extend our library services at Animal Care to caring, cat-loving residents."
