City of Fort Lauderdale recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Fort Lauderdale is constructing a temporary fire station on Vistamar Street between Breakers Avenue and A1A to serve our community while Fire Station 13, located on Sunrise Boulevard, is replaced with a new, upgraded facility. Waypoint Contracting, Inc. is the contractor who will be working on the project that includes:
- Constructing a temporary fire station
- Constructing a new public parking lot
- Installing new landscaping, irrigation, and lighting
Traffic & Other Neighborhood Impacts
- The majority of the work is taking place within the fenced-in property located on the north side of Vistamar Street.
- Minor traffic delays are possible along Vistamar Street as construction vehicles enter and exit the site.
- Neighbors in the surrounding area can expect machinery noise from trucks, bulldozers, and other equipment during work hours.
- Measures will be taken on-site to attempt to minimize dust related to construction.
