Already considered a 2022 national championship contender, head coach Doug Neagle and the Nova Southeastern women's tennis team moved the needle even more on Monday after officially announcing the signing of graduate transfer Julia Razafindranaly.
Razafindranaly will be eligible immediately.
Razafindranaly brings a championship pedigree to the Sharks, having won three consecutive national titles at Barry from 2018-21. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has posted a combined record of 45-1 in singles, including a perfect 7-0 mark in an abbreviated 2021 campaign. The native of Rosnoen, France is a three-time, All-Sunshine State Conference selection, while off the court, has been a three-time member of the SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Razafindranaly owns a career-high ranking of 845 on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) pro tour and has a current Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 9.97.
She will join an NSU squad currently featuring the South Region's No. 2 and No. 3 singles players in Natalie Espinal and Nika Kozar, along with the region's No. 1 and No. 4 doubles teams in Espinal/Chantal Nosievici and Kozar/Zala Dovnik.
What Coach Neagle is saying: "We are pumped to add a player of Julie's caliber and to our Sharks team! She has experience playing in some big time matches in her career, including NCAA Championship-clinching match in 2018. She is a fierce competitor, and even more importantly, a good person, who I'm confident will be a great teammate."
