Town of Davie Veterans Day Closures and Ceremony

Town of Davie issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.

In observance of the Veterans Day holiday, the Town of Davie municipal offices will be closed on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Municipal offices will resume regular operating hours on Friday, November 12, 2021. 

Please take note of the following Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts facilities hours that will be modified for this day: 

Pine Island Fitness Center will open from 5 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Pine Island Aquatic Center will open from 5 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

The Pine Island Multipurpose Center is closed.

Programmed sports activities will not be performed on this day. 

All parks will be open.  

Veterans Day Ceremony

Join the Town of Davie in honoring all military personnel who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The event will take place on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Veterans Park located at 5750 SW 39th Street, beginning at 10 a.m.  

Admission is free and seating will be available for attendees. The ceremony will feature guest speakers, honor guards, Armed Forces medley and more to thank veterans for their sacrifice and service.   

Attendees are encouraged to wear a facial covering.

Parking Information:

Satellite parking will be made available at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds located at 4271 Davie Road. A shuttle bus will transport attendees to the ceremony at Veterans Park and back to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Limited parking will be available onsite at Veterans Park.

Solid Waste Services

Garbage and bulk trash collection services will operate on a normal schedule.
