Sharks Tee Off Fall Season at South Regional Preview

Nova Southeastern University Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.

NSU's two teams currently sixth and eighth through two rounds of play

Nova Southeastern women's golf began the fall portion of its 2021-22 season on Monday, teeing off rounds one and two as host of the South Regional Preview at Grande Oaks Golf Club. Through 36 holes of play, the Sharks A-team currently sits in sixth place among the 11-team field, while the B-team has a hold of eighth.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

Following two rounds, NSU's two teams stand at 40-over and 50-over par, trailing Lynn.

Barry (+25), Anderson (S.C.) (+26), Florida Southern (+30) and Limestone (+36) make up the rest of the current Top-5.

Competing on the B-team this week, newcomer Hannah Mitterberger led the way for the Sharks on Monday, finishing the opening two rounds at 3-over par and in sixth place. Mitterberger remains just four strokes off the lead. 

Pacing the A-team, Nicola Fall and Sofia Garcia Austt also closed the day within the Top-20, both recording identical scores of 10-over. .  

Jimena Marques (+11), Hanna Ahlander (+13), Ellen Ramstedt (+13), Jennifer Lilly (+15), Ellen Andersson (+18) and Haruka Muta (+19) are also among this week's field.  

STAT OF THE DAY 

After a rough start to the day, Ahlander proved to be one of the biggest risers in the second round, finishing with an even-par effort in round two.
