Town of Davie issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.
Project to occur between Nova Drive and State Road 84
The Town of Davie Engineering Division has begun roadway improvements for the College Avenue Phase II project. The project will take place on College Avenue from Nova Drive to State Road 84
Project improvements include:
Construction of new landscaped medians
Irrigation
Implementation of ADA compliant sidewalks
Curbing and gutter
Drainage infrastructure
Fire hydrant relocations
Electrical service work and milling
Resurfacing
Reconstruction and road widening
New pavement markings and signage
And creation of a four-lane divided roadway with shared bike lanes
Traffic will be reduced to one open lane in each direction however, drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid College Avenue on route to their destinations, whenever possible. The project hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The project is anticipated to be completed by July 2022.
