City of Weston issued the following announcement on Oct. 28
City staff and City Service Providers who would come to your home for a repair, inspection or report would ALL have a City issued ID card. Always ask to see one before letting them in. If someone comes to your home unannounced or without you requesting them, double-check and verify. If anything seems suspicious, call the Broward Sheriff's Office at 954-764-HELP (4357).
Unfortunately, there are people out there that may try to scam unsuspecting individuals and pass themselves off as an inspector or an official to gain access to your home.
All Weston service providers or contractors are issued City ID badges with their photo, name, title and the company that they work for, and an expiration date. Upon separation of employment the ID badge has to be turned in. An image of the current Weston ID card is pictured below.
Also, City Service Providers that would come to your home, must have their company name displayed on vehicles.
