The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team took on Sunshine State Conference foe Barry and dropped the rain-shortened contest 8-3 on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bottom of the Second – The Buccaneers got on the board first, scoring a run on a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the Third – Barry plated three runs in the bottom of the inning, recording three extra base hits, and extending their lead to 4-0 over NSU.

Top of the Fourth – The Sharks responded to the three-run inning from the Bucs by having the first four batters reach in the inning. Duncan Pastore worked a walk, before Daniel Irisarri singled up the middle and an error by Barry allowed Pastore to score from first. Later in the inning, Irisarri scored on a second Buccaneer error, putting the score at 4-2. Bryce Hazzard capped off the inning with a sacrifice fly, bringing in Adam Smith, as the Sharks rallied for three runs.

Bottom of the Fourth – NSU’s rally was short-lived, as the Bucs responded with four more runs in the bottom of the and took an 8-3 lead over Nova Southeastern.
The contest was called short after five complete innings due to rain.

UPCOMING
The Sharks return to the NSU Baseball Complex and host Saint Leo in Sunshine State Conference action beginning on Friday, March 31. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
