FOIA Request to Hialeah Police Department regarding active employee roster on November 13, 2025.

A request for public records was submitted to the Hialeah Police Department by Central Broward News. The request seeks access to various documents related to the department’s current employees. Specifically, the requested records include any roster, directory, staffing list, payroll record, or personnel summary that identifies all current police department employees. The information sought includes each employee’s name, job title or rank, sex or gender (if available), date of hire or appointment, and age or year of birth (only if included in existing public-facing records).

The request emphasizes a preference for receiving these records in electronic format. Additionally, if multiple versions of such rosters exist—such as HR roster, payroll roster, sworn-officer roster, and civilian-staff roster—the most recent version of each is requested.

Central Broward News has highlighted its role in gathering and reporting news to the public as part of its professional responsibilities. The organization has also requested a fee waiver based on its status as a media entity. The requestor is affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
