The Florida Panthers have launched the fifth season of their ‘Celebration of Black Excellence’ Series, presented by Amazon, to mark Black History Month. The initiative recognizes South Florida community members from various professions who have made significant contributions. Honorees were nominated by colleagues, friends, and family for their service to the local community.
Throughout February, the stories of these honorees will be shared on the team’s website and social media channels. The series aims to highlight individuals such as executives, educators, producers, and healthcare workers who are making a difference in South Florida.
On Friday, Feb. 27, the Panthers will host their annual Black History Night at Amerant Bank Arena during their game against the Buffalo Sabres. All honorees will be recognized at this event. The evening will also feature performances by Dillard High School Drumline and University of Miami’s National Panhellenic Council (NPHC).
Special merchandise will be available at Pantherland and FLATeamShop.com during Black History Night. Fans can also bid on exclusive jerseys designed by Nathan Delinois (Nate Dee), a local artist whose work incorporates elements from his Haitian heritage.
A special ticket package is available for HBCU and Divine 9 groups that includes access to a pregame panel discussion and other benefits.

“From Black executives, owners to educators, producers and healthcare workers, the ‘Celebration of Black Excellence’ series recognizes individuals that were nominated by colleagues, friends, family and more for giving back to the South Florida community,” said the organization in its announcement.
