The Florida Panthers announced on April 13 the winners of their third annual Panthers Team Awards during a pregame ceremony before facing the New York Rangers at Amerant Bank Arena. The honors went to forwards Luke Kunin and Brad Marchand, as well as goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.
Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky received the Fan Choice Award, which was voted on by Panthers fans. Bobrovsky, who is 37 years old, recently achieved his 200th regular season win with Florida and became the first Russian-born goalie to play in 800 career National Hockey League games. He also ranks second in franchise history for both games played and wins. In the current season, he has recorded four shutouts, placing him tied for third among NHL goaltenders.
Forward Luke Kunin was selected by his teammates for the Unsung Hero Award. This award recognizes a player whose contributions may not always be reflected in statistics but are valuable to team success. In his first season with Florida, Kunin played 60 games and led Panther forwards in blocked shots per game while ranking high in face-off percentage and hits per game through April 12.
Brad Marchand earned the Three Stars Award for accumulating the most points as Star of the Game throughout home matches this season. Marchand led all players with 23 points from these selections and posted strong numbers at home, including leading all Panthers players in points per game at home (1.14) over 29 appearances this year. He also became the first player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career NHL points as a member of the Panthers.
The team directed fans seeking more information about previous award winners to its official website.
