Updated Fall 2022 Food List for Ongoing Community Food Collection Drive

The Harvest Drive continues the good work of assisting food insecure families in Broward County. Volunteers continuously pack food bags  to families of children that attend Broward County Schools and other reputable social service agencies and deliver them approximately every two weeks. The intention is to continue this effort now until the need subsides.

Harvest Drive and the City of Weston have teamed up in a COMMUNITY COLLECTION effort, to supplement the non-perishable foods that Harvest Drive is purchasing.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

Look for the bin in the front of each of the buildings.

  • Weston City Hall, 17200 Royal Palm Boulevard (front entrance)
  • BSO Royal Palm Fire Station 81, 17350 Royal Palm Boulevard (front door, facing parking lot)
  • Weston Community Center, 20200 Saddle Club Road

WHAT IS NEEDED NOW:

*No glass jars please*

  • Cereal/Oatmeal
  • Powdered Milk
  • Pancake Mix & Syrup
  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Soup
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Applesauce & Canned Fruit
  • Cookies & Crackers
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Tuna/Chicken
  • Pasta sauce in cans or plastic
  • Pasta & Rice
  • Mashed Potatoes (boxed or pouches)
  • Canned Sweet Potatoes (Yams)
  • Canned Cranberry Sauce
  • Stuffing Mix (boxed)
  • Gravy (cans or packets)

That’s it. Grab an extra can or two each time you shop and we can help end hunger in our community and Broward County.

**NO GLASS JARS.  NO EXPIRED ITEMS.

Wanted: Sheets & Towels

Harvest Drive is also ccepting used (or new) sheets and towels of all sizes. It is an extremely unfortunate situation today, where families have lost everything. Some are sleeping in their cars or in park type areas.  Rent and housing increases are impacting all communities.  Drop off CLEAN sheets and towels at our City Hall drop off location. Pin sheet size onto sheets if possible.

We thank you in advance for any help that you can offer and your generosity to those in need.
