Trees over 6 feet tall should be cut in half

*Please Note: In general, holiday tree decorations are not recyclable. Please re-use them, donate them or dispose of them in your garbage cart. Remove all lights, tinsel, nails, tacks, tree skirts and stands or any other non-organic materials.

Broward County has an annual annual Chip-a-Tree program offered at several parks. The free program is for Broward County residents only. Hours vary; please call the park for details.

Program Details:

  • The program runs daily from Monday, December 26, 2022 through Monday, January 16, 2023.
  • The regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee will NOT be in effect for those dropping off trees.
  • Program is for Broward County residents only.
  • All decorations must be removed from the trees.
  • Trees will be chipped and used for landscaping throughout the county park system.
  • There is a limit of two trees per vehicle, artificial trees are not accepted, and no commercial vehicles or garbage trucks are allowed.
