The Sunshine State Conference announced the Players of the Week for the week of January 9 – 15, on Monday afternoon. Nova Southeastern Sharks student-athlete Celina Marquez (Women’s Swimming) earned honors following her performance this past week.     Nova Southeastern Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week awards are presented by Courtyard Marriott. 

The El Salvadoran earned the fourth Swimmer of the Week honor of her career. Marquez garnered four individual wins and added a relay victory this past week. The redshirt senior won the 100-backstroke (57.01) and 200-backstroke (2:06.51), competing in a dual against Florida Southern. During the NSU quad meet, Marquez was a part of the 200-medley relay winners, posting an individual time of 23.86. She followed with victories in the 100-backstroke (56.38) and 200-backstroke (2:03.60).
