The No. 2 Nova Southeastern Sharks Men’s Basketball team improved to 18-0, 11-0 SSC and started the second half of its Sunshine State Conference slate with a dominant 132-82 win over Lynn on Saturday evening. Eight Sharks scored in double figures, including Will Yoakum, who led NSU with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half – In the early moments of the contest, Kobe Rodgers created instant offense by forcing a turnover and knocking down a pair of free throws on the offensive end of the floor, putting the Sharks ahead 8-4. Lukas Speidel and Jake Maranville knocked down back-to-back three-pointers for NSU, pushing the Nova Southeastern advantage to 15-9 over the Knights. Coming off the bench, Tomas Murphy converted an and-one, putting NSU ahead by double digits (22-12). Midway through the first half, the Sharks extended their lead to 32-13 following a lay-up from Murphy. In the final minutes of the opening half, Maranville knocked down another three-pointer putting NSU in front 49-24. Nova Southeastern went into the halftime break leading 58-35.
Second Half – RJ Sunahara got the second half started with a fastbreak dunk, set up by a Rodgers steal, and assisted by Jonathan Pierre. Ryan Davis and Dallas Graziani each made a three-pointer and put the Sharks in front 84-45 over the Knights. Yoakum scored back-to-back baskets for Nova Southeastern, as NSU continued to extend its advantage over Lynn. The Sharks combined to score 74 points in the second half, sealing their 18th consecutive win of the season and 49th in last 50 contests.
